Skalnaté pleso is located at an altitude of 1751m in the Lomnická Valley, directly below the southern slopes of the Lomnický sztitu and was originally called Lomnické pleso. The Tatranská magistrála in the sections Hrebieniok, Lomnická vyhladka, sedlo pod Sviszťovkou and Brnčalou chata leads through the rocky forest. Rocky Pleso is considered to be the best skiing area in the High Tatras. One of the best places for this sport is the slope under the Lomnické sedlo (Lomnické sedlo) and in the French town of Muldie. The Lomnické sedlo is also famous for the fact that there is a trail of a huge slalom, a traditional race for the Great Slovak Prize.
