Description

Kercelak, Kercelego Square, "Kiercelak" - the biggest marketplace in pre-war Warsaw, functioning from 1867 to 1944. It started in the area of Chlodna and Towarowa streets, developing along Okopowa street and reaching Ogrodowa and Leszno streets (today's section of Solidarności Avenue from Wronia street to Mlynarska street and eastern part of Okopowa street were built after World War II). It occupied an area of about one and a half hectares.
