Last Update: 2025-03-11
Introduction to Community Guidelines
At Lookcam.com, we strive to create a platform where creators can freely express themselves and create engaging content for their audiences. Our Community Guidelines outline the rules for using our platform and have been developed to ensure a safe and friendly environment for all users. These guidelines are an integral part of our Terms of Service, and violating them may lead to moderation actions.
We want everyone to be able to use Lookcam.com according to their preferences. We encourage viewers to avoid content that does not align with their personal values, while ensuring that all content on the platform remains within the boundaries of our rules.
Moderation Process
Live broadcasts are inherently unpredictable. Our moderation team evaluates reported content, taking into account the full context, including the creator's intentions, engagement and response, as well as the potential risk and impact of the broadcast. These factors help determine whether there has been a violation of our rules and to what extent.
Full Context
Not all situations are the same, and context can influence how content is perceived. Different moderation decisions may result from the full context of reported content, including the creator's positive or negative intentions, their level of involvement in the incident, response to issues, and the severity of these issues. Creators should consider their previous actions, the tone of their broadcast, and any external factors affecting their content.
Intentions
While it is difficult to assess a creator's intentions, when evaluating whether content violates our guidelines, moderators consider whether harmful situations could have been reasonably anticipated and whether broadcasts are created responsibly, with the aim of entertainment, education, or positive engagement, rather than sensationalism or exploitation.
Engagement
The level of a streamer's involvement in harmful content can vary, from negligence to direct participation in toxic behavior. For example, inadvertently allowing harmful content to be broadcast due to lack of supervision constitutes negligence. On the other hand, active participation in content that violates our guidelines is a more serious violation.
Response
During live broadcasts, decisions made in the moment can help mitigate harmful situations. Creators should make responsible decisions when responding to events. In high-risk situations, a quick reaction can prevent a problem or limit its escalation. Creators should be vigilant and consider responses to unexpected circumstances – quick responses such as turning the camera away, muting inappropriate sound, or switching to a neutral screen can help prevent the transmission of harmful content.
Guideline 1: Sexual Content
We allow light, suggestive sexual content, but will take action if content becomes excessively erotic. Adult creators may broadcast content of a suggestive sexual nature as long as it remains appropriate for their audience and does not contain nudity, sexual acts, or excessively sexual elements.
Content of a sexual nature must be labeled as +18 and placed in the appropriate category. We do not allow explicit sexual content, such as prolonged or excessively sexual movements. Showing intimate body parts, including exposed breasts with visible nipples, is prohibited. Creators should be aware of camera angles and avoid close-ups of sensitive areas.
Guideline 2: Pornography
There is no place for pornography on Lookcam.com. We do not allow the creation, sharing, or deliberate display of pornographic materials. Offering rewards for performing sexual acts, displaying pornographic content, using sex toys, and excessive sexual representations are prohibited.
Guideline 3: Protection of Minors
Lookcam.com is fully committed to protecting minors. We prohibit content that exposes or exploits children, and our users must always respect the privacy and safety of minors. We have a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding materials depicting child sexual abuse.
Ensure that broadcasts and interactions are free from content that could exploit minors or promote child abuse. This includes refraining from requesting, creating, sharing, or distributing inappropriate and illegal materials. Avoid engaging in inappropriate behavior or discussions with minors and never request or share any personal or identifying information about minors.
We understand that parents or legal guardians may want to include their children in broadcasts, however, proper supervision must be ensured to make the child's participation safe, appropriate, and respectful.
Guideline 4: Violence and Harm
We do not allow content that promotes, glorifies, or incites violence or physical harm against individuals or groups. This includes content that depicts, encourages, or normalizes self-harm, suicide, or dangerous activities that could lead to serious injury or death. We also prohibit content that contains excessive gore, graphic violence, or disturbing imagery.
Guideline 5: Harassment and Bullying
We are committed to maintaining a respectful environment free from harassment and bullying. We do not tolerate any form of abusive behavior, including threats, intimidation, stalking, humiliation, or any conduct that creates a hostile environment for others. This applies to interactions between broadcasters and their audience as well as among viewers in chat.
Guideline 6: Hate Speech
Content that promotes or encourages hatred, discrimination, or violence against individuals or groups based on attributes such as race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, sexual orientation, or gender identity is strictly prohibited. We aim to foster an inclusive community where everyone feels welcome and respected.
Guideline 7: Private Information
Sharing personal or identifying information about others without their consent ('doxing') is not allowed. This includes addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, government IDs, financial information, or any other private data. Respect for privacy is essential on our platform, and violations will be treated seriously.
Guideline 8: Impersonation
Pretending to be another person, organization, or entity in a misleading or deceptive manner is prohibited. This includes impersonating other creators, Lookcam staff, or public figures. Authenticity is important to our community, and false representation undermines trust among users.
Guideline 9: Illegal Activities
Content that promotes, facilitates, or encourages illegal activities is not permitted on Lookcam.com. This includes but is not limited to drug trafficking, weapons sales, theft, hacking, terrorism, or any other activities that violate applicable laws. We cooperate with law enforcement when required and appropriate.
Guideline 10: Intellectual Property
Respect for intellectual property rights is required on our platform. Do not broadcast or share content that infringes upon copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights without proper authorization. This includes unauthorized streaming of copyrighted content such as TV shows, movies, sports events, or music performances.
Guideline 11: Misinformation
We strive to maintain a truthful environment and discourage the spread of harmful misinformation. Content that deliberately spreads false information that may cause harm or public danger is prohibited. This includes but is not limited to false information about health emergencies, natural disasters, or civic events that could lead to panic or dangerous behavior.
Guideline 12: Platform Manipulation
Attempting to manipulate the platform's features, metrics, or algorithms is prohibited. This includes artificially inflating viewer counts, engagement statistics, or using automated tools to interact with the platform. We value authentic engagement and take measures to ensure the integrity of our ecosystem.
Guideline 13: Gambling and Scams
Content promoting unauthorized gambling, betting schemes, or scams is prohibited. Creators must not engage in or promote get-rich-quick schemes, pyramid schemes, or any fraudulent activities designed to deceive or exploit viewers financially. All giveaways, contests, and promotional activities must comply with applicable laws and be conducted with transparency.
Guideline 14: Self-Harm and Suicide
We take the issue of self-harm and suicide seriously. Content that promotes, glorifies, or encourages self-harm or suicide is strictly prohibited. If you or someone you know is struggling with these issues, please seek help from a mental health professional. If you witness content of this nature on our platform, please report it immediately.
Additional Guidelines
Links
We do not allow links to illegal websites.
Emotes
Emotes should not violate these guidelines, and channel owners are fully responsible for their emotes and those created by their moderators.
Channel Responsibility
Channel owners bear ultimate responsibility for content streamed on their channel. Banned creators from Lookcam.com should be avoided from appearing on their channels. These situations will be assessed in accordance with moderators' considerations of intent and engagement, and banned creators should not be the main focus of broadcasts.
Streams
Stream titles should align with the standards set forth in these guidelines. Streams should be in the most accurate category to reflect the nature of the content being broadcast. If content is only appropriate for mature audiences, the 18+ label must be applied.
Reporting
We prioritize the safety of all members, which is why we have an easily accessible 'Report' button. This feature enables reporting any behavior that violates our Terms of Service. If you come across a user engaging in conduct that contradicts the guidelines we've outlined, don't hesitate to use the 'Report' button. Your reports are crucial in alerting our moderation team to quickly address such issues.
How We Apply Enforcement Actions
Our enforcement actions may vary depending on the severity and frequency of actions. Our main goal is to work with our creators to resolve and rectify misbehavior. We believe in corrective action whenever possible and when creators are genuinely correcting their behavior.
We have a zero-tolerance policy for certain behaviors and will not work together to find a resolution in some serious circumstances.
Our enforcement actions may include warnings on chat, via email, or after a stream. To maintain safety standards, we may also apply alterations, mutes, privilege revocations, added restrictions, content removal, temporary or indefinite account suspensions, and in severe cases, permanent account bans.
Appeal Process
If your account has been suspended for violating our Terms of Service and you wish to appeal the decision, you may submit an appeal to [email protected] for consideration of a suspension period reduction or channel reactivation.
Cooperation with Authorities
Lookcam.com cooperates with law enforcement and regulators to provide information we are legally obligated to, whether as a proactive notification or in response to a formal request.
These Community Guidelines are regularly updated to reflect the changing needs of our community and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all Lookcam.com users.
